1 Glitz and Glitter

At Chanel couture, the models walked the runway in show-stopping embellished silver gowns. There was enough glitz to distract you from perhaps the biggest news of the day: the models all walked with a smattering of silver glitter highlighter along their upper cheekbones. It's safe to say the glitter and highlighter trends aren't going anywhere.

2 Poofs and Ponytails

A gown this pink, ruffled, and poofy would typically call for a hairstyle that mimicked all it's intricacy. But that's why we love the direction Giambattista Valli went in this season: the models' hair was simply pulled back into a textured ponytail and secured with a simple black elastic.

3 Orange Theory

When the collection is called "Orange Vibrations," you can bet that the beauty look will take the theme seriously. At Armani, makeup artists painted the models' eyes, lips, and cheeks in a flush of cheery orange pigment.

4 Hair Swirls

The hair at Chanel was swirled and rolled into sleek hair buns by hairstylist Sam McKnight.

5 Decorated Braid

At Schiaparelli, a simple plait was upgraded with a black ribbon headband and a scrap of black tulle placed loosely around the elastic.

6 Play It Cool

We'd never think to pair loose waves, dark nails, mauve lipstick, and barely-there makeup with a Crown Jewels-worthy tiara, as seen backstage at the Alexis Mabille spring 2017 couture show.

7 Seeing Stars

Your go-to festival beauty look is now a couture-level statement. At designer Maria Grazia Chiuri's first couture collection, models walked down the runway with metallic stars scattered across their cheeks. Makeup artist Peter Philips placed the stars where you might dab on highlighter—the inner corner of the eyes and along the outer cheekbones. To instantly brighten the models' eyes, he lined them with Diorshow Khôl High Intensity Pencil in #529 (a creamy beige liner), launching this May.

8 Clip Clip

At Francesco Scognamiglio, basic metallic hair barrettes were transformed into something much more high-fashion, simply by grouping them together in an unusual pattern. Lined-up horizontally along the back of a bun, dead-center on the part, or along the front of the models' hairline, the pins added an element of toughness to the collection.

9 Well Tressed

Magic was in the air at the Dior couture show. That translated to models walking through the overgrown garden-maze setting in black hooded robes, masks shaped like insects, and feathered headdresses sticking out of ethereal curls.

10 String Theory

At Maison Martin Margiela, makeup artist Pat McGrath and hairstylist Eugene Souleiman joined forces to weave scarps of string all along the hair, face, lips, ears, and eyes.

11 Hair-And-Ear Accessory

At Georges Hobeika, the hair was pulled back into a sleek half-up knot. It served as the perfect canvas for a set of statement-making ear accessories.

12 New Wave

The spring ready-to-wear collections brought '80s beauty back in fashion, and that trend continued with couture. At Alexandre Vauthier, the models' hair was gently curled, fluffed, and flipped over to one side. It was voluminous, retro-inspired hair done in a 2017 way.

13 Black and Blue

At Elie Saab, makeup artist Tom Pecheux traced a combination of black and blue eyeliner along the models's eyes before winging it out into a dramatic and graphic flick.
