He's the proud father of Bear Grey Payne, who just turned two months old.
And Liam Payne, 23, who first met his girlfriend Cheryl, 33, when he was just 14, is clearly taking the responsibilities of fatherhood seriously, revealing on Sunday which former One Direction band mate he would most like as a babysitter.
The star ruled out Harry Styles as a possibility, joking that he would be worried Bear would pick up his unusual fashion sense.

Liam was speaking on the Vodafone Big Top 40, which runs on Sundays from 4pm to 7pm, when he was asked which former 1D member would make the best babysitter.
He said: 'I couldn’t rely on Harry because I feel like my child would come out dressed in something that I just wouldn’t understand.'
The solo artist also dismissed Niall Horan, saying: 'With Niall, the kid would be putting golf balls on tees! Niall would be pushing the pram whilst swinging the putter at the same time!'

He eventually settled on Louis Tomlinson, saying he would be best qualified as he already has a child, with stylist Briana Jungwirth.
Liam was also asked to name his favourite solo record produced by a former One Direction member. He decided it was Zayn Malik's Pillowtalk, rather than Harry's.
Also on Sunday, Liam revealed his girlfriend Cheryl had lost all of her 'baby weight' - in just two months.

Speaking candidly in a radio interview on Capital FM on Sunday, Liam revealed that the songstress still thinks that she's 'massive'.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw, Liam said: 'Pregnancy is hard to deal with, it’s that first pair of jeans you can’t get into and she thinks she’s massive but she’s lost everything.'
Liam added: 'She’s lost all the baby weight and she’s like "Oh, I’m so big" and I’m looking at her going "You are insane, woman!"'
Nor him! He also dismissed Niall Horan, saying: 'With Niall, the kid would be putting golf balls on tees. Niall would be pushing the pram whilst swinging the putter at the same time!
Meanwhile, Cheryl's ex-husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini told The Mirror that he didn't like being thrust into the spotlight when he was with the singer.
He said: 'I’ve lost a lot. I don’t have my parents, I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m alone now.'
'I married someone who was famous, I was thrust into this mad world – I didn’t like it.'
Traditional: Liam had previously confessed he wasn't sold on Cheryl's choice of moniker - confessing that he wanted something more classic while she insisted on Bear
On Friday, Liam also divulged that it was actually bandmate Niall and music mogul Simon Cowell who first set him up with girlfriend Cheryl.
The crooner confessed that the Syco owner and Niall had 'played cupid' by telling him the Fight For This Love singer, 33, had a crush on him - driving him to embark on a romance.
Speaking in an interview earlier this week, the Strip That Down hitmaker revealed how Niall and X Factor boss Simon were responsible for getting him and the Girls Aloud star together - by telling each that the other had a crush on them.
Candid: Liam also said on Sunday that Cheryl has all of her 'baby weight' - just two months after giving birth to Bear
He said: 'Niall came over to me and said you'll never guess who's got a crush on you - Cheryl.
'I was saying something about Cheryl in Simon's house and he said I know who the future Mrs Payne is.'
Explaining the same had been done in reverse, he continued: 'Apparently he really embarrassed her one day by saying do you know who really really fancies you and she left the room bright red and Niall told me this whole story. They played Cupid. They are your boys.'
Quick turnaround: However, the 23-year-old revealed that his girlfriend still thinks that she's 'massive'
Despite their band One Direction going on hiatus in 2015, Liam and Niall proved their friendship was still as strong as ever on Monday when they reunited in LA.
Taking to Twitter, the Irish crooner shared a snap of Liam hanging his famous gold chain around his neck - using the opportunity to mock his trademark jewellery.
He wrote to fans jokingly: beyonce hair styles the best and worst 'Great to see Payno today. Here I am being christened with 'the chain''.
Meanwhile Niall's matchmaking certainly paid off - after Liam welcomed his first child, a baby son called Bear, with Cheryl back in March, after a year-long relationship.
Kicking things off: Liam said that his bandmate (pictured together in 2015) Niall was the first person to say Cheryl had a crush on him
Gushing of the exciting new chapter in his life, Liam admitted on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show last week that becoming a father was by far the craziest thing that had happened to him so far.
When asked about the 'maddest thing' he'd ever done, the singer quipped: 'I had a baby! That was a pretty mad bit about the year.'
However, the Wolverhampton native had previously confessed he wasn't sold on Cheryl's choice of moniker - confessing that he wanted something more classic while she insisted on Bear.

Revealing the name was now his top choice, he told KISS FM: 'She wanted a very interesting name, when he leaves a room people wouldn't forget it. Which I think is it definitely does that.
Yet he did confess that his heart had been set on something else at first, adding: 'I actually wanted, Arthur. I think you sound like a bit of a tank -...Arthur Payne.
'He's not a guy you'd mess around with', before adding reassuringly: 'I don't think Bear is, either though.'
Decision fatigue helps explain why ordinarily sensible people get angry at colleagues and families, splurge on clothes, buy.
